Image of the cover of The Polar Express by Chris VanAllsburg showing a train engine in the snowy nightTuesday, December 19 is an early release day, but it’s one you won’t want to miss as Raleigh Road celebrates its annual POLAR EXPRESS DAY.  Come to school in your jammies, get your ticket from Conductors Beavers and Shepard, have your ticket punched when you enter your class train car, and you’ll be ready for activities based on the Caldecott winner, The Polar Express by Chris VanAllsburg. There’s no charge for this special train ride, so……”All Aboard!”

Just remember, you still need to wear shoes (not slippers) to school, and don’t forget to brush your teeth and comb your hair!

Mrs. Beavers taped to the wall

Thank you Colt families for your support with the Reading Rocks October Coin Drive!  All together we raised $291.63 and with a total of $169.41 Mrs. Beavers was taped to the wall!

We are kicking off our November Coin Drive with three more exciting options.  Mrs. Beavers will kiss a pig, Mrs. Shepard will get a pie in the face or Mr. Fred will get water balloons thrown at him.  Students can bring in their coins from now until November 21st and place it in the person’s jar of their choice. Results will be announced after the Thanksgiving break.  Thank you for your support of Raleigh Road’s Reading Rocks!
